The Doors of Durin Environment
DESCRIPTION
During peaceful times, the western entrance to Khazad-dûm are open. With commerce between the people of Durin and neighbouring Elves, the doors were a symbol of friendship. From mined mithril, magic flowed through the ithildin letters and iconography at night. For years, Dwarves enjoyed the peace. Eventually, war came to Khazad-dûm, shutting the Doors of Durin.
When the Fellowship arrived at the Cliffs of Celebdil, they found the Doors sealed and surrounded by decay. Beneath it, watchful eyes observed the companions as they sought a way in.
